I am a University Teacher and Post-doc researcher at Interact Research Unit, Faculty of ITEE, University of Oulu.

I have a PhD degree in Information Systems from Åbo Akademi University, Turku, Finland. I have been also a post-doc researcher at Aalto School of Business, Center for Knowledge and Innovation Research (CKIR), Helsinki, Finland.

My research interests

  • Media experience, media psychology, psychophysiology, cognitive psychology, reading, attention, emotion: study of attention to media contents and formal features (colors, shapes, visual vs. textual representation, etc.), emotional appraisal in media rich contexts (video, games, news reading, etc.), psychophysiology of software development
  • Information and data visualization
  • Data mining (statistics, pattern recognition, machine learning, Self-Organizing Maps, neural networks, fuzzy logic, clustering, classification, association rules, prediction models, outlier detection)
  • Usability, User experience, Human Computer Interaction
