I am a doctoral researcher working at the intersection of Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) and Child–Computer Interaction (CCI), with a focus on equitable access to technology-enhanced education. My work uses participatory and speculative design methods to prioritize children’s and teachers’ voices in imagining and shaping future classrooms. I am particularly interested in how emerging technologies such as generative AI, VR and social robots can support inclusive, context-sensitive educational futures across diverse cultural settings. My research is a cross-cultural collaboration between the University of Oulu, Finland and IIT Delhi, India, exploring how educational technologies are understood, negotiated, and reimagined by those who use them.
I am guided by Professor Marianne Kinnula, Dr. Sumita Sharma, and Professor Netta Iivari, whose supervision supports the interdisciplinary and cross-cultural dimensions of my research. My path into academia has been shaped by both industry and interdisciplinary study.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Media and Communications and spent five years working in advertising and marketing in Mumbai, India, where I developed a strong interest in storytelling, strategy, and social impact. In 2019, I moved to Oulu to pursue a Master’s degree in International Business Management. My Master’s thesis, “The Role of AI, Big Data, and IoT in Accelerating the Circular Economy,” sparked a deeper curiosity about technology-driven sustainability and its broader societal implications. A growing desire to engage more critically with questions of access and equity eventually drew me into doctoral research.
Today, I also contribute to the Cross Border Digital Policy Project, focusing on digital empowerment in rural Arctic communities such as Muonio (Finland) and Muodoslompolo (Sweden). As part of broader living lab initiatives, I engage in collaborative processes that bring together academics, industry actors, community members, and policymakers to explore policy approaches that support meaningful and equitable digital participation.Outside of research, I am a music and world history enthusiast who enjoys intercultural exchange and the conversations that emerge when different perspectives meet.
