Shortly about the project:
The Metapilot Factory project is a research project coordinated by OAMK, with Centria University of Applied Sciences and the University of Oulu. The project is co-funded by the European union and council of Oulu region.
The goal of the Metapilot Factory project is to strengthen the expertise and understanding of metaverse technologies among universities, micro-enterprises, and SMEs in the Northern Ostrobothnia region.
The objective is to enhance the ability of companies and research, development, and innovation actors in Northern Ostrobothnia to adopt and utilize new metaverse technology. The project aims to discover new business opportunities and thereby enhance the international competitiveness of businesses in the region, as well as the attractiveness of the area as a location for R&D and workforce placement.

Pilots at the University of Oulu:
Metapilot Factory includes several pilots. Below is a list of pilots organized by INTERACT, in collaboration with other ITEE research units:
- Tarinatalo - A virtual learning environment for supporting the reading and writing skills of children and adolescents. Read more about the project in Finnish and in English

- Saunatonttu - Mobile application that integrates sensor and user data with research on the health effects of sauna.
